Google Soli Motion Design Branding Sprint

I partnered with friend Gilbert Van Citters of Evil Twin Inc. on a Motion Design sprint to explore elements of motion that could be brought into the Google Soli Logo. After exploring a variety of 2D and 3D animation of the logo we settled on a version that emphasized how the technology can follow and understand the motions of it's users.

With a tight schedule and limited resources, I was the jack of all trades on this project. The role required resilience in a difficult and fast-paced situation. But also gave me the opening to direct.

Lumedic Explainer Videos

I led one other motion designer as we replicated and expanded an illustration style. Over a 3 month timeline, we built out two stories. Both were to explain a blockchain-enabled Covid vaccine verification system to potential business partners. At a time when most of those words made little sense to the public.

Microsoft Design Day 2019 Show Intro

Only a month out from the arrival of 2000 designers from across Microsoft, the Narratives Studio needed a show opener that could help invigorate the crowd. We split the work into two sections a 3D landscape and hype reel. I focused on editing the surreal hype video that showcased a variety of video work that had been created for Microsoft. The end result needed to fit the 40ft wide screen and have an underlying connection of the disparate pieces included. The theme of the event was "Open for Business," we took the perspective of someone traveling a worm hole opening business to design.
